La Rambla now at Crossroads
If you are a fan of the La Rambla Restaurante mediterranean menu (previously at Tickell Road), you need to head a little further out to Crossroads. The ambiance and service is not the same, but if you want just the food, the Tasty Caterers owned cafe and restaurant at Nawala Road should not disappoint. The Restaurant Guide has been updated with info from two recent visits in 2009.

Habibi now in Colombo 07
Chef Habibi's Casa Colombo outlet has now moved to Maitland Crescent, in the premises previously occupied by (variously) the Tabu Ultra Lounge, the Zetter complex and most recently this year the Royal View restaurant. Changes have been made, with authentic Lebanese chefs, live entertainment in the "form" of a Brazilian-Lebanese belly dancer named Fernanda, and live music. The contact number is 0725100000.

Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo restaurants
The web URL for the newly opened Cinnamon Lakeside hotel's restaurants is http://www.cinnamonhotels.com/mealsdls.cfm?hId=3252
Summerfields is now "The Dining Room"
Beira Lounge is now simply "The Lounge"
There is a new restaurant / tapas bar called "7 Degrees North"
Goodies, the Pool Bar, the Sushi bar, Royal Thai and the Long Feng have been revamped and will all return. The Library is also back.
The mediocre Saffron has been the only casualty.

Trans Asia Hotel Restaurants
It seems that not all of the Trans Asia Hotel's many restaurants will return, when the hotel reopens as the Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo. The popular signature restaurants Royal Thai and Long Feng will remain, but it is likely that the Summerfield's Coffee Shop will be renamed.
